Clipboard

SettingDescription
Clipboard LimitHow many clips to keep in history. Range: 100–500. Oldest unpinned clips are removed when the limit is reached. Pinned clips are always preserved.
Pause CaptureTemporarily stop recording clipboard changes. Useful when working with sensitive content you don't want saved.
Auto-hide SensitiveAutomatically detect and collapse clips that look like passwords, API keys, tokens, JWTs, or private keys. Hidden clips can be revealed individually.

Blocked Apps

Add a process name to the blocklist and Clipcat will never capture clipboard content from that application.

Examples:

  • 1password.exe — 1Password (Windows)
  • Bitwarden.exe — Bitwarden (Windows)
  • 1Password — 1Password (macOS)

Clipcat checks the foreground window's process name at the moment your clipboard changes. If it matches a blocked entry, the clip is silently discarded.

Finding a process name

Use your OS task manager to find the exact process name for an app you want to block.

Window

SettingDescription
Always on TopKeep the Clipcat window above all other windows at all times. State persists between sessions. Unavailable while Quick Paste is enabled.

Quick PasteHides Clipcat to the tray. Press the global shortcut from any app to summon it, pick a clip, and it pastes directly into your previous window then disappears. Enabling this also turns on Mini Clip mode.
